Digital Footprint & Communal Defense
Shrinking what is exposed, and building the network that defends it
To build a unified ecosystem that combines personal digital footprint management with a collaborative nationwide network, providing the defense-in-depth tools and expert personnel required to secure individuals and organizations.

The two halves
Your digital footprint is the part an attacker sees first. Most people have never been shown what theirs looks like, and most small organizations have never been shown theirs either. The first half of this program is about making that visible and then making it smaller: what is public about you, what it lets someone infer, and which of it you can actually take back.
Communal defense is the part no one does alone. An individual hardening their own accounts is worth something. A network of people and organizations sharing what they are seeing, and able to call on someone who has handled it before, is worth considerably more. The second half is that network: the people, not just the documents.
The two are deliberately one program rather than two. Reducing exposure without anywhere to turn when something goes wrong leaves people stuck; a response network that only reaches people already breached is a network arriving late.
Key Deliverables
People: The Defense Network
- A nationwide roster of vetted cyber-capable people who can be engaged for guidance, education, and crisis response.
- Direct pathways from VTP's certification and mentorship programs into that roster, so the network grows from the people the organization has already trained.
- Community outreach that reaches people before an incident rather than after.
Aligned Lines of Effort: L2, L5
Policy: Guidance People Can Follow
- Plain-language standards for personal and organizational digital hygiene, written for people without a security background.
- Emergency-preparedness guidance covering what to do in the first hours of an incident, not just how to avoid one.
- Scenario-based exercises, tabletop and environmental, so guidance gets tested rather than filed.
Aligned Lines of Effort: L1, L3, L4
Technology: Tools and the Hub
- A security self-assessment tool that tells an individual or organization where they actually stand.
- The Cybersecurity Resource Hub, a practical library of guides for recognizing, preventing, and responding to threats.
- Footprint-reduction walkthroughs covering the accounts and exposures that matter most in practice.

Impact
Lowers the odds that an ordinary person or an under-resourced organization is taken apart by something preventable, and shortens the distance between "something is wrong" and "someone who knows what to do is helping."
This program is being built. The Resource Hub is live; the self-assessment tool and the defense network are in progress, and we would rather say which is which than present the whole thing as finished.
