Aaddrick Williams

Aaddrick is a husband, father of three boys, manufacturing professional, and open-source maintainer. He started out building Geocities pages for strangers on IRC in the late nineties, joined the Massachusetts Army National Guard as a generator technician in 2008, and has spent the last fourteen years with Canadian Bank Note Company and its US operation. He walked on as a second-shift equipment technician in Danville, Virginia and worked up to staff-level ownership of the equipment and capital programs behind government identity documents. He still works the floor and carries the on-call phone.
Government identity documents are produced under audit, and a defect ships in somebody’s wallet. Aaddrick specifies, commissions, and sustains the lamination presses, vision inspection systems, and laser personalization equipment that make them. He owns the reliability, incident response, and cross-site failover behind that equipment. Outside the plant he builds software. He helps with FlySpaceA, where in early 2026 he migrated the platform from AWS to Google Cloud, and revamped both the flight-data ingestion pipeline and the access controls that keep travelers’ movement data scoped. Those controls are enforced as build-failing architecture tests. He also maintains Claude Desktop for Linux, an open-source project with more than 5,200 stars, and publishes open tooling and technical writing. Slushpile is a Von Terra Project tool he built to help technical professionals sell themselves; it learns more about each user and the job market the longer they use it.

Passion & Mission
Aaddrick’s aim is to make complicated systems safe to operate by people who did not build them. Fourteen years in manufacturing taught him that reliability is daily work: guardrails, incident retrospectives, and honest measurement. He brings that to The Von Terra Project’s technology work. He believes security work should be legible to the people it protects, and most of what he builds he gives away: his tooling is MIT-licensed and public, and on FlySpaceA he made the case for keeping the base tier free.
